RoboCop was an American movie in 1987, followed by RoboCop 2 in 1990 and RoboCop 3 in 1993.
I was in primary school when I first watched Robocop (1987) on TV. Back in those days there was no “Parental guidance” or ” Rating” on TV program. Two images still in my head today:
1. Murphy was shot multiple times by gangsters even his arm was severed and then the final head shot that killed him and he became the OCP owed RoboCop.
2. The final scene, one of the gangster (staring by Paul McCrane) was “melt” by hot water (or chemicals, I am not sure) in an abandoned factory and then he was killed by his comrade by running a car on him. His body was smash into pieces.
OMG ! That’s really something shocking to a 10 year-old boy. 😵💫
The ED209, brain & spinal cord extraction from Nuke deug dealer Cain (staring by Tom Noonan) in Robocop 2 is also shocking to me.
Of course, the beloved Auto9 semi-automatic pistol is always my favorite. Although it was never a real gun but appears only in the movie by modifying a Beretta M93R.
This game was released in 2023 and finally I brought it from Steam® at 80% discount few days ago😁. A very good deal.
It is a standard FPS (first person shooting) game. Robo walks around the city to investigate criminal activities by completing objectives.
I have played for couple of hours and there are regular shooting scence. I can definitely use the default Auto9 but a UZI or AK rifle left by the criminals are more lethal.
In the movie, Robocop has auto targeting system so he never missed a shot. But in the game, I still need to aim the target by moving the mouse. Understandable, what the point of playing FPS game if all are auto aiming? 😎
In the game, the voice of Robo, his walking sound, the police car, the 6000SUX, the police station etc definitely bring back my memories about the movie.
Honestly the graphics of the game is just average. I haven’t play it long enough but I wouldn’t spend AUD $73.5 (standard price) to buy it even I am a fan of RoboCop®. Not to mention if I am not a fan 😅.
